Why natural? The skinny on the current state of affairs ....

Because my mom told me so.

That is probably the simple answer. You are what you eat...or to some extent, what you put on yourself. A key point for this argument is that preservatives in our food we consume and products we use - catalyzes the 'carcinogenic' effect. In other words, promotes cancer via the disruption of cellular metabolic processes. And we know what cancer does ....

Common wisdom dictates that prevention is (usually) better than the cure. Why fight a fire when you can stop it from happening in the first place?
We have exercised concerns about what we eat (e.g. organic) and what we wear (e.g. natural fibres). However, are we as conscious in terms of what we put on our skin? Edenkiss's blog does a wonderful job in detailing the common synthetic skin care ingredients that has potential negative impact. Really does make you think twice about using what you're accustomed to ....over the years. The blog goes on the reference a pretty nifty website (hosted by the Environment Working Group's Cosmetics Safety database) which details content and associated safety warnings of the product you've been using. Try it...you might like it!

As with many new experiences, everything begins with awareness. Without that, the step to making a
conscious change would be, at best, difficult.

Till the next post....

Take care of your skin!
